Laraine Kurisko, PhD., Licensed Psychologist, Jungian Psychoanalyst
Serving Residents of Minnesota
It seems inevitable that at some point in everyone's life, the thread that connects us to our deepest center becomes frayed or lost. We may experience this as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, physical illness, feeling "stuck", and more. These symptoms are messengers of the soul and can lead us to that deep place where healing and transformation can occur. Our psyche also speaks to us through joy, a sense of "calling," intuitions, synchronicities, talents, etc... but often we listen best to pain. Together, we can rediscover your authentic Self and access your own wellspring of healing.
As a Jungian Psychoanalyst and Depth-Psychologist my interest is in furthering each person's unique individuation process through methods of accessing unconscious, latent wisdom and potentials. These include working with dreams, active imagination, synchronicity, intuition, typology, image-work, sand-tray, journaling, symptoms, the body, myth, and fairytales.
By building a safe and trusting relationship we can explore parts of your authentic self that need to heal so that you can live your fullest potential. Your pain and symptoms can be the necessary catalyst and messenger that will lead us to discover these hidden parts of yourself. A trusting relationship fosters this deep level of exploration.
About Dr. Laraine Kurisko
I have been a psychotherapist since 1987, and have worked in many different areas. For the past 20+ years, my primary focus has been working with motivated adults in individual psychotherapy sessions. With a PhD in Clinical Depth Psychology and post doctoral training as a Jungian Psychoanalyst, I view symptoms as meaningful and extremely valuable as they are our best means of connecting with unconscious contents. With greater consciousness we also enjoy an enhanced sense of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment in our lives.
